Although there are various forms of video poker available to the gaming enthusiast, the Holy Grail on each of these games is the elusive royal flush, that peculiarity beautiful combination of the ten, jack, queen, king and ace of the same suite. The cards need not to be in sequence to generate the prize; they can appear on the screen in utter disarray and still be worth the main prize. Online Video Poker rules are basically as follows:

• Insert your money into the online video poker machine.
• Press the 'Deal' or ‘Draw' button
• After viewing your poker cards, pick which ones you wish to keep and then press the 'Hold' button underneath.
• Press the Deal/Draw button again.
• Continue this process for as long as it continues to be fun!
• When you've decided you're done, press the button - usually marked - 'Credit' or 'Cash Out'.

Video Poker Rules

The rules of Jacks or Better are basically the same as standard five-card Draw Poker. You are initially dealt five cards and then may exchange one to five of these cards in order to draw new ones in an attempt to better your hand. You need at least a pair of Jacks to get a payout.

How a hand in Video Poker is played

The rules of Video Poker games differ a lot from regular poker games. The major difference is that in Video Poker you're only playing against a machine and not other players. This is how a hand in Video Poker is played:

* The player makes a bet (Player can make minimum of 10 and maximum of 50 bets at once.
* The game gives the player five cards.
* The players decide which cards to keep and which to discard.
* The player's discards are replaced by the game.
* The player is paid off (or loses the bet) according to the value (*rank or value of the hand is explained below) the hand. Here the player will get 2 options to collect the win amount or to go further and double his win amount.
* Once Player has winning hand he will be given 2 options

1) Double
2) Collect

Double option will give player five cards, one opened and five folded. You have to pick up one of those four cards, if that card has high rank that the opened card, you win amount will be doubled and you will be again given the Double and collect option and it will repeat till you choose collect or you lost.

Collect option just collect your money and go back to the start of the game

Royal flush: Ace-king-queen-jack-10 all of the same suit (hearts, clubs, spades, or diamonds).

Straight flush: Five consecutive cards of the same suit; for example, 2-3-4-5-6, all of clubs.

Four of a kind: Four cards of the same rank; for example, ace of hearts, ace of spades, ace of clubs, ace of diamonds.

Full house: Three cards of one rank, two cards of another rank; for example, 3 of diamonds, 3 of hearts, 3 of spades, 6 of hearts, 6 of spades.

Flush: Five cards of the same suit; for example, ace, 10, 7, 4, 3, all of diamonds.

Straight: Five consecutive cards of mixed suits; for example, 2 of diamonds, 3 of hearts, 4 of diamonds, 5 of clubs, 6 of spades.

Three of a kind: Three cards of the same rank; for example, 6 of hearts, 6 of clubs, 6 of diamonds.

Two pair: Two cards of one rank two cards of another rank; for example, ace of spades, ace of hearts, 7 of clubs, 7 of diamonds.

Pair of jacks or better: Two jacks, queens, kings, or aces.
